The Anaphylaxis Campaign has published has an information sheet on airline travel [1], this reports:

“Unfortunately there is not enough hard information available to quantify the risks, but medical advisers to the Anaphylaxis Campaign have agreed that some reassurance can be offered to people with peanut allergy who are planning to fly.”

We spoke to the Anaphylaxis Campaign’s helpline (01252 542029) and they reported that there have been a number of cases of anaphylaxis caused by nuts allergens in the air, sometimes causing the flights to make emergency landing.  However, they do give advice (contained in the above document) to help sufferers manage the risks.
