Muscle cramps appear to be a widely reported adverse event associated with donepezil [e.g. 1, 2, 3].
We spoke to medicines information at Eisai Ltd (0208 600 1400) and they reported that the condition is benign and typically self-limiting. They stated that the vast majority of patients suffering muscle cramps stop having symptoms after 2-3 weeks.
