According to the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare:

"The Summary of Product Characteristics does not list swollen eyes as a potential side effect of Microgynon 30 use and do not refer to potential allergic reactions. All reactions of medicines are generally reported to the Medicine and Healthcare products Regulatory agency (MHRA). To date the MHRA have had three reports of eye swelling with use of levonorgestrel. Headache has bee reported on 244 occasions. However, the CEU advises that this is for all contraceptives containing the active ingredient levonorgestrel and not specific to Microgynon 30. These numbers are also considered clinically insignificant given the numbers of women using contraceptives.

The CEU has no further information pertaining to allergic reactions associated with the use of Microgynon 30."
