Question answered:02/04/08
According to the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare:
"Choice of contraceptive in this woman will be dependent on her current viral hepatitis status and her current lifestyle pattern. If she is likely to be a person with low compliance of a method i.e. remembering to take pills or return for repeat injections, longer acting methods such as intrauterine contraception or an implant should be considered as a first line choice. Barrier methods in addition to her chosen contraceptive should also be encouraged.
The recommendations for safe contraceptive as outlined in the United Kingdom Medical Eligibility Criteria for Contraceptive Use are outlined below."
