Question answered:25/01/08 Warning! this question is over two years old.

We searched the NLH Stroke Specialist Library and the TRIP and Medline databases but found no guidance on the use of TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation machines) in post-stroke patients in general or specifically in patients who have undergone endovascular detachable coil treatment. In addition, we found no studies assessing the efficacy or safety of TENS in patients who have had coil clipping treatment.

Given the lack of information on this topic, we can only suggest seeking advice from your local stroke team.
