According to Allergy Notes the prevalence is 2.1% in children and 5.8% in adults.
Tolerance develops in only 20% of the patients (similar to peanut allergy).
Sesame food allergy appears early in life, but unlike cow's milk and egg allergy, persists in 80% of cases (also similar to peanut allergy).
